You will notice I have rebranded this blog as Ferality. That's because I was originally going to start a new blog, and that was the name I chose. I'd found a site to host it - Overblog - and I set it up, and I'd been posting for a couple of weeks, and then when I went to write a new post, I discovered that both of my existing posts had been deleted.
It took me weeks to get a support person to talk to me, and when I finally managed to get one, despite many emails back and forth my posts are still missing, nor have I been given any sensible reason for their having been deleted (I don't count 'Gee, maybe it was the spam filter' as a sensible reason.)
And so I've returned to my old haunts, but I had become so attached to the new name that I've decided to keep it.
So, now here we are in March. I've had an okay year so far - mostly it's been occupied with getting the new book out. I'm happy to say that it is now out, and available everywhere in paperback and as an ebook; the hardcover edition is still in the process, in fact that is my task at the moment, that final read through of the proof copy before I release it. It's really just a formality, but I never feel quite right without that last careful step.

So that will soon be all done, and I'm already working on my next, which is going to be another fairytale retelling, like Dancing Feet. This time, the story I'm translating into the modern day is the Princess and the Pea. For the purist, of course, this isn't a real fairytale - it's one of Hans Christian Anderson's - but his stories occupy, I feel, the same position in Western culture as do those collected by the Brothers Grimm. Stay tuned!
