Review - Critical Pursuit by Janice Cantore

A fast-paced, page-turning thriller with solidly believable and sympathetic characters, Critical Pursuit will appeal to most readers of crime thrillers. The added theme of two characters' parallel journeys towards regaining lost faith adds to, without detracting from, the work; there is nothing offensively 'preachy' about the book to put off those who don't share Cantore's beliefs.

The writing is solidly competent and beautifully finished, rich with detail about police life, but never descending into boring lectures about procedure. I'm adding Ms Cantore to my list of 'reliables'.
